The Dread Pirate ship sails the Midwest and beyond in search of worthy opponents to engage. Along the way, we seek to enlarge our crew and fleet of teams.
We have added a fourth team for the 2024-2025 season in the WCHL and are always seeking players to join our rosters (D7/D5/D3/D1).
We have our own home ice for the Pirates team at Oregon Ice Arena!
Our biggest hurdle for expansion is usually goalies. In fact, lack of goalies is also the biggest factor limiting the growth of women’s hockey period. Thus, if there are women out there who have ever wondered in the slightest if they might like to play goalie, we will get you on the ice and find gear for you to try it out. No experience or commitment necessary to try it out! If you have the interest, we will find a way to make it happen. We don’t even care if you are really looking to play for a different team, more goalies benefits everyone in the end. Send us a message via the contact form and let’s talk!
We plan to continue running a beginner team in the WCHL at the D6 or D7 level as long as we can fill a roster for this team, which at this point, we anticipate to be indefinitely. Know you want to play on this team? Think perhaps, maybe, you might want to play on this team? Great, let’s get you on the ice at one of our practices as soon as possible – no experience necessary. We can help you borrow equipment to try it out the first time. We have used gear to loan out to players in need of gear or who just want to try out the sport – just ask. Is there something else holding you back? Let us know, we’re good at removing hurdles (financial, ability, and otherwise). Fair warning, hockey is addictive. Once you start, it’s very hard to stop.
